There is a 99% chance that you have used or seen or heard a Sony product. It is virtually impossible to not recognize the global logo for entertainment. If you have listened to any of the 1000s of artists by Sony Music, seen a movie by Columbia, Revolution Studios, Tristar, and soon, MGM (link), or played any sort of consul/electronic by Sony (link) then you have been affected by Sony and seen its impact on the world.
THE COMPANY
SONY was created by Akio Morita in 1946 in Japan. The term Sony is derived from the Latin word for sound, sonus and was modernized to appeal young.
Between the 1950s till now, Sony has churned out hundreds of new technological advances and new innovations such as the Walkman and the Playstation. Its newest product is the PSP was is a music player, movie player, and video game consul.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Sony began taking over music and films production companies and putting out its own television channels all over the US and abroad. As of 2004, Sony has a total revenue $71.26 billion (¥ 7.6 trillion).
